Measure QQ, the Pleasanton Ridgeline Protection and Growth Control Initiative, is the kind of open, public planning –avoiding loopholes and lawsuits – that brought us the 11,659 acres of outstanding publicly accessible open space and recreational amenities we have now in and around Pleasanton.

We all treasure such resources as vital to our quality of life and we all want to see them protected. That’s why our City Council sponsored Measure QQ in response to requests from open space, parks, and trails advocates.

Measure QQ requires:

• An open, public process that maximizes citizen participation
• Expansion of existing hillside protections, incorporating those already voted in
• Identifying specific ridges needing protection, based on view lines and geotechnical data
• Setting an elevation above which no development will be allowed
• Criteria for protecting Pleasanton’s voter approved housing cap
